Lifelong Learning

The Italian Ministry of University and Research presented an executive summary entitled Linee di indirizzo - Università e Apprendimento permanente (“Guidelines  for University and Lifelong Learning") in Naples, in 2007. The text opens with the following statement: "lifelong learning is quickly destined to become an institutional task for Universities,  in addition to their mission as a fundamental subject for research and higher education destined to young people. The social need for lifelong learning, long established in European strategies and recently confirmed by the decisions of the European Union, is increasingly evident and it is driven by the innovation of technologies, as well as, by comparison and competition on a local, European and global scale."

The Department of Education, Cultural Heritage and Tourism constantly implements research activities aimed at the continuous and professional training of different categories of workers, in order to improve their level of qualification and professional development,  through the enhancement, updating and improvement of professional skills.
