SHORT DESCRIPTION: the project aims at promoting gender equality, inclusion, diversity and respect to difference in the Academia. Strengthening the capacity of Universities to build inclusive education communities through the provision of know-how to implement GEPs and educating university students on the topic of GEPs are key objectives. The project aspires to build the capacities of Universities’ staff to promote gender equality and enhance transfer of knowledge between CSOs, Think Tanks and Universities.
Key outputs:
The project will deliver a comprehensive set of practical resources to support Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in promoting gender equality. Its key outputs include a Toolkit for the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Gender Equality Plans (GEPs), a Handbook presenting methodologies, tools and good practices for gender mainstreaming and inclusive teaching, training and capacity-building materials for university staff and students, and National Policy Reports providing evidence-based recommendations for policymakers and higher education stakeholders. The project will also strengthen cooperation and knowledge exchange among universities, civil society organisations and other relevant actors.
Expected outcomes:
The expected outcomes include enhanced institutional capacity to design, implement and monitor Gender Equality Plans, increased awareness and competencies on gender equality among academic staff and students, and the integration of gender mainstreaming into university governance, teaching and institutional policies. In the longer term, the project is expected to contribute to more inclusive, diverse and gender-sensitive higher education environments, fostering sustainable organisational and cultural change across participating institutions.
